DFI®, a leading manufacturer offering a wide range of products for diversified industrial applications, today introduces a new 3.5" Embedded SBC board, the CD952 Series, with Intel® NM10 Express chipset supporting the Intel® Atom™ processors. The CD952 Series is DFI's Cedar Trail platform that pairs Intel® NM10 Express chipset with a range of Intel®Atom™ processors, from the power-efficient Intel® Atom™ N2600 processor to the enhanced Intel®Atom™ D2550 processor as illustrated in the table below. These new dual-core processors provide the solution of choice for low power embedded computing and increase performance with higher CPU pixel clock.
The Intel® NM10 Express chipset paired with these new Cedar Trail embedded platforms offers excellent processing performances in media, graphics, I/O flexibilities, stunning and seamless visual experiences, and error correcting code (ECC) memory. The CD952 Series 3.5" embedded SBC form factor is designed with 2GB DDR3 onboard memory interface to deliver maximum performance for faster communication between components.Targeted at multimedia applications, the integrated Intel® GMA Graphics engine 3650 (with the Intel® AtomTM D2550/N2800 processors) and 3600 (with the Intel® AtomTM N2600 processor) support enhanced media and graphics with Full HD. The Smooth Video Playback supports hardware decoders with Full HD 1080p video playback capability. The Intel® GMA Graphics accelerator integrated into the CD952-2xDE20
offers 1 DVI-I interface to support display capabilities up to 1920x1200. The CD952-2xDE21 provides 1 VGA interface supporting display resolution up to 1920x1200 and 1 micro HDMI interface displaying graphics resolution up to 1920x1080.
For applications requiring a low power solution with passive cooling, the Intel® AtomTM N2600 processor with heatsink (fanless solution) offers the modest performance with 1.6GHz clock speed. For maximum performance, the Intel® AtomTM D2550 processor with heatsink plus cooling fan and the Intel® Atom™ N2800 processor with heatsink (fanless solution) processor respectively operate at 1.86GHz clock speed.
The CD952 series also provides 4 Type A USB 2.0 interfaces, 7.1-channel High Definition Audio interface with 1 line-out and 1 mic-in ports, 2 Serial COM ports to support RS485 auto direction control, 8-bit or isolated 4-bit Digital I/O connector for device controls, and 2 integrated Intel® Gigabit LAN controllers up to 1GB transceiver to increase transmission speed for network-intensive applications.
The expansion design of the CD952 Series platform offers additional capabilities for customers' multiple demands via 3 Mini PCIe interfaces, 1 SIM card socket and 1 CFast socket. 2 Mini PCIe interfaces for communication support PCIe x1, USB, and LPC signals for Wifi/LPC (or 3G signals for 3G/GPRS); 1 Mini PCIe interface for storage supports mSATA module.
The CD952 Series, a new 3.5" embedded SBC platform with all these features described above, is an ideal product for unlimited usage on various industrial applications requiring a stable revision-controlled platform, such as gaming, medical equipment, digital signage, and ATM/POS applications.
