DFI brings the most cost-effective Mini-ITX motherboard, CR101-D, to its 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processor-based product line. It is DFI's first Mini-ITX board supporting the new mobile Intel® HM76 Express chipset. This low power board supports a range of mobile-based 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processors built on 22-nanometer process technology and boasts a 15% CPU performance increase over the previous generation.
The mobile-based processors supported include the quad-core Intel® Core™ i7-3610QE, the dual-core Intel® Core™ i5-3610ME and i3-3120ME processors. These 3rd generation processors offer higher performance at lower power consumption than the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors which are also supported on this embedded board.
The integrated Intel® HD Graphics 4000 engine delivers up to 50% 3D graphics performance improvement and up to 1.8x HD to HD transcode performance increase. The HDMI, DVI-I, and LVDS graphics interfaces can simultaneously display high definition images in 2 independent displays. HDMI delivers uncompressed HD video and uncompressed multi-channel audio in a single cable, supporting all HD formats including 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. Both HDMI and DVI support display resolution up to 1920x1200. The 18/24-bit single channel and 36/48-bit dual channel LVDS support up to 2048x1536 resolution making it suitable for the larger 22" and 32" LCD panels.
The Intel® Clear Video HD Technology provides advanced imaging capability for Blu-Ray and other high definition video processing. Graphics APIs include DirectX 11, OCL1.1, and OGL 3.1. All these built-in graphics design provide faster HD video processing and streaming without the need of a discrete graphics card.
This new mobile platform supports DDR3/DDR3L SODIMM up to 16GB memory for faster communication between components. It also supports 5.1-channel HD audio with S/PDIF input/output interface and 2 Gigabit LAN with increased transmission speed for network-intensive applications.
Not only does the board run faster, it is also packed with high performance I/O via the mobile Intel® HM76 Express chipset. The 4 USB 3.0 allows your system to process more data load. The board also provides 4 USB 2.0, 2 SATA 3.0 ports with speed up to 6Gb/s for applications that need fast storage speed, and 2 Serial ATA 2.0 ports with speed up to 3Gb/s. The board also supports 2 RS232/422/485 Serial COM ports with hardware auto flow control to fulfill the demand of industrial application.
The Mini-ITX board offers additional expansion capability via 1 PCIe x16 slot for video capture card. 1 Mini PCIe slot with USB and PCIe signals provides you the flexibility to use a variety of Mini PCIe modules such as Wi-Fi, TV Tuner, and video capture.
All these combined high performance features and low power consumption make the CR101-D an ideal choice for digital signage, kiosk, gaming and medical applications.
