New SoM by Intel Atom® Processors
The ASL9A2, a COM Express Mini Type 10 module from DFI, is powered by an Intel Atom® processor. The ASL9A2 System-on-Module (SoM), equipped with an Intel Atom® x7000RE-series processor, was engineered using the cutting-edge 7nm technology. This combination opens up versatile computing potential with up to eight cores and clock speeds of up to 3.6GHz, adeptly meeting the diverse requirements of edge computing. Rely on the cost-effective, durable, and flexible Intel Atom® processors to deliver advanced technology where it is needed most. Whether it is bolstering network infrastructure, fortifying network security, or enhancing storage appliances, these processors ensure optimal performance and adaptability for a wide range of applications.
Enabling Intel® TCC and TSN Support
Compared to the Intel® x7000E series, the introduction of Intel® Time Coordinated Computing (TCC) and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) technologies in the Intel® Atom® x7000RE series represents a major leap forward. These two innovations provide real-time applications with a powerful tool and alleviate the many issues in one of the most important problem areas for application developers. Thanks to the improved compatibility and new features, timing and synchronization are more precise to ensure unparalleled performance in industrial automation that requires near-constant performance and reliability. Therefore, the DFI ASL9A2 SoM, which utilizes the Intel® Atom® x7000RE series, offers significant advantages for various applications.
Speeding up Boot and Resume Times and Minimizing Standby Power Usage
Upon customer request, DFI can preload Intel x86 System-On-Modules (SoMs) with the "Slim Bootloader" to replace the conventional AMI BIOS. This open-source boot firmware is tailored to the Intel x86 architecture and is characterized by compactness, security, and high speed. It caters to system integrators and is particularly suitable for applications in factory automation and other areas. DFI also offers the "Fast Resume & Low Power Standby" technology for Intel x86 SoMs on request. This technology ensures standby power consumption of less than 1 watt and hardware resume times within 1 second, enabling fast operation after resuming from sleep mode and saving energy for demanding defense and industrial applications.
Revolutionizing Industrial Applications with DFI ASL9A2
