DFI Focuses on Three Major Businesses Unveiling the Latest AMD Ryzen Embedded 7000 Series Motherboards

DFI (2397), the world leading brand in embedded motherboards and industrial computers (IPC), announced it will continue to focus on embedded, cybersecurity, and automation businesses and move towards its mid-to long-term goals. In addition, DFI is debuting its new products in line with the release of AMD's latest Ryzen™ Embedded 7000 series processors. Not only is DFI debuting the first industrial motherboards for the new platform, the new series of products is being unveiled at the Industrial Automation Exhibition in Germany to target business opportunities in automation.

DFI held its third quarter investor conference on November 15th. In terms of business performance in the third quarter, the gross margin for embedded business improved compared to the last quarter and the same period last year, exceeding 30%. The sales performance of the cybersecurity business is expected to improve with the shipment of orders in Q4. The automation market is expected to gradually recover as customer demand for machine tools remains.

According to the data published by the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research at the start of this month, Taiwan’s manufacturing procurement manager index (PMI) was 47.1 in October. Although it has decreased for the eighth consecutive month, since May 2023, the index has been hovering around the expansion threshold of 50 on the business cycle indicator. It is expected to gradually move back into the expansion zone above 50.

Regarding this, DFI Vice Chairman Michael Lee stated that although the overall market has been affected negatively by external factors, emerging application development trends has aided with the recovery of the market. The business outlook will not be as pessimistic as the company aims for stability in the midst of gradual recovery. DFI is now refocused on embedded, cybersecurity, and automation businesses, aiming to achieve a consolidated gross margin of 30%. In terms of the mid to long-term, there is still strong demand in information security, automation, smart healthcare, new energy applications, and rail transportation, which will drive growth for DFI.

DFI President Alexander Su stated that with DFI’s extensive experience in the embedded field and rapid product development capabilities, DFI continues to work closely with several major technology companies. On November 14th, DFI debuted the RAP310, the first industrial motherboard compatible with AMD’s latest Ryzen™ Embedded 7000 series processors. This unveiling coincided with the processor's launch date and it was showcased at AMD's booth at the 2023 Smart Production Solutions (SPS) Industrial Automation Exhibition in Germany, jointly focusing on industrial automation applications.
