DFI Emphasizes Agile Transformation to Drive Growth — Launches Product-Service Strategy to Capitalize on Edge AI Opportunities

Taipei, Taiwan – DFI (TWSE:2397), a global leader in embedded motherboards and industrial computers, held its Q4 2024 institutional investor conference today (28th), reporting solid annual growth amid a gradually recovering market. Looking ahead to 2025, DFI President Tien Chin-Yin noted that in response to increasingly diverse AI application demands, DFI will leverage the group’s robust resource integration capabilities to go beyond hardware manufacturing and implement an agility-driven “Product-Service” strategy. This transformation aims to accelerate the deployment of AI applications and solidify DFI’s position as a key enabler in the edge AI value chain.

According to market research firm Global Information, Inc. (GII), the global edge AI hardware market is projected to reach US$4.36 billion in 2025 and grow to US$10.23 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.58%, reflecting strong long-term potential.

Positioning itself at the forefront of edge computing, DFI’s Embedded Business Unit expanded its AI IPC portfolio in the second half of 2024 and has already initiated proof-of-concept projects in industrial automation, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and AI-driven retail kiosks. Going forward, DFI plans to launch a comprehensive range of solutions encompassing edge computing devices, automation control systems, and AI inference servers—furthering AIoT adoption across key verticals. In addition, the Cybersecurity Business Unit will strengthen its lineup of server-grade platforms, delivering high-performance security solutions to meet the increasing needs of U.S. and European enterprises for secure infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Automation Business Unit will deepen its presence in the semiconductor equipment sector through strategic collaborations with major clients. New-generation products and integrated solutions have begun deployment, supporting productivity improvements and industrial upgrades.

Driven by Edge AI, enterprises are showing rising demand for low-latency, high-performance computing with robust cybersecurity. DFI recorded NT$9.584 billion in revenue for 2024, marking 4% annual growth, with earnings per share (EPS) of NT$3.46. Although market momentum is gradually improving, Europe continues to face headwinds from economic slowdown, inflation, and geopolitical uncertainty, while the U.S. “Made in America” policy may introduce supply chain and cost challenges.

To navigate this dynamic environment, DFI is reinforcing its “Global Reach, Local Agility” strategy by integrating internal resources to optimize supply chain management, expand localized production and services, and mitigate operational risks through proactive assessment of tariffs and geopolitical shifts. The company is also deepening collaboration with global supply chain partners and local clients to provide timely technical support and integrated solutions—ensuring rapid time-to-market and reinforcing its competitive edge.
